Flagging Tape Reuse:
Flagging tape works as
an alternative to streamers or ribbons. The
garland shown on the previous page was
made with pinecones and greenery clustered
together with floral wire. The flagging tape
serves as the swag, as well as to completely
cover the wire. On this page (top left), the
tape and bold-hued yarn were used to adorn
newsprint-wrapped gift boxes.
Neon Bits Wreath:
With a small brush, paint
a few of the leaves and pinecone scales on
your wreath. We used Acryla Gouache in
Luminous Lemon, Luminous Orange, and
Opera. If you’ve got extra pinecones, add
colorful accents to those, too. Scatter a few
on your mantel, or dress up your tabletop with
a collection of them placed in glass vessels.
Alternative Giftwrap:
Since it rips and re-
moves easily, gaffer tape is a great option
for wrapping oddly-shaped gifts. It may not
disguise what the object is, but it sure is fun!
And it actually does glow under a UV light.
(Wrap the gifts in tissue before taping.)
